At its Ordinary Meeting held on 23 August 2025, Council resolved to place the Draft Allocation Strategy for the Hill Street Affordable Housing Development on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.

The Hill Street homes will be allocated under a Local Allocation Strategy developed by Homes North. This strategy explains how tenancies will be offered in a fair, transparent, and consistent way, with clear criteria for eligibility and priority. To be eligible, households must meet the NSW Affordable Housing Income Limits (very low, low, or moderate income) and show they cannot reasonably afford a home in the private rental market. The strategy also sets priorities for who will be housed first including existing tenants at Hill Street, key workers, older people needing accessible homes, and households experiencing housing stress, with preference given to those with a strong local connection to Uralla. The draft policy is being made publicly available, and community members are encouraged to read it and provide feedback for Homes North’s consideration.
